Nursery Planning!

Hey Boos! So, 6 months in and nursery furniture has been ordered! Shabam!

It took me a bit to narrow down the direction that I wanted this room to go, but the one thing that I knew was that I didn’t want it to be too “baby” and definitely didn’t want predictable. Being a neutrals girl, I’m going for soothing, soft, and feminine without being over the top fluffy-girly.

Soooo, this is what I’ve come up with so far! Soft whites, clean lines, pretty grey, and accents of lavender. I already know that some pink things will end up in there one way or another, so I’m not going out of my way to add more.

Check this crib – I’m dyyying over the acrylic front! Sorry little miss, no privacy for you! We wanna see your cute face. Also, the grey base (sans standard legs) totally had me at Hello. We’re also getting this funky bassinet for our room.

One thing I’m not totally decided on yet is the feature wall – I’m leaning towards the adorable "Seeing Stars" decals from Urban Walls (left). I’ve also seen this "Lucky Star" wallpaper (right) that I like - whichever one I chose will have the stars in a soft grey colour on a painted white wall similar to below. Then I'll pick a pretty grey to match the stars and use it on the remaining 3 walls!

Seriously, which do you guys like better? Help!

I know that I want lots of artwork for the walls - definitely these baby animals (omg dyyying) - I'll get at least 3 to line up above her crib or dresser, not sure which one yet. And I don't think I'll be able to resist the Ciao Bella (Aunty Kali's fave phrase) print to rep her Italian side or the Zebra print just because it's amazing and so freaking cute.

For the softer touches, I ordered this pendant light fixture from Restoration Hardware. Loving the clean lines but that it's also softened by the linen fabric and exposed seams!

It took me a long time to find crib bedding that I like. I didn't realize that I'd be as picky as I was, but I did finally come across the perfect pattern - shout out to Resto because they did it again! Little grey and lavender elephants. Totally sold. As an aside, they're getting rid of this pattern in the greys so if you want anything, act fast. As of now, they just have the fitted sheets left. Womp womp.

There's going to be so much softness added through accessories like fluffy sheepskins, draperies, pillows, possibly an area rug, and who knows what else. That's the kind of stuff I'll pick up as I go!

I'll also be adding a good old Ikea dresser (seriously the best size and an awesome top to use as a change table), a fab white leather rocker, and tons of little odds and ends. I still want to find a little table to go beside the rocker, a table lamp or two, and I just might throw in some white floating shelves too.

Below is the furniture plan that I've been working off of for the past few weeks to organize my thoughts, so you can see it all as a whole. What do you guys think? Do you like the clean lines and grey colour scheme, or do you prefer a more traditional pink scheme with more frills?

Oh, and the sloth stuffy - dying.

I'll keep you guys posted with things as they come in- furniture should be 8-10 weeks or so, but some will be sooner! PLEASE tell me which wall treatment you prefer and I'll let you know when I make up my mind.

I am so loving this opportunity to be major picky!!
