Sweet Saturdays

Today I want to share one of mine and James' favorite places to go on the weekends, Dauphine Bakery. I've talked a bit before about how I often work weekends and drag James into that process as well, but just because James and I are working doesn't mean we can't get in some good food and a little together time in the same trip by hitting up one of our favorite local cafes or restaurants. This last weekend we were up early on Saturday to get the day started and decided to head downtown for a breakfast we were both craving from Dauphine bakery

Dauphine is a sweet bakery and cafe nestled on 104 street and I don't know what you think, but any bakery that greets you at the door with a bucket of carbs pretty much secures a spot in my heart immediately! With marble tables (a blogger must! haha), a parisian vibe and delish cappuccinos, I love popping by for a coffee and treat. Since we had been up for a while and eaten breakfast before when we went in we weren't starving but I literally cannot be at Dauphine during breakfast hours without getting their 'Eggs Maroc' (photos down below) so we shared that dish as well as their grilled grapefruit with sugar. After this visit I've decided I'm actually so obsessed with their Eggs Maroc that I might need to make my own take on their recipe (much like I did with my salad obsession from Leva Cafe) so stay tuned for that coming soon to the blog ;)

Anyways, when we go to Dauphine I usually make James take some iPhone photos of the standard blogger 'cappuccino and sunglasses' photos or the obligatory 'coffee and treat table down' shots but on this day we went all out with our 'real camera' and despite feeling a little awkward at first it only took a few sips of my cappuccino to go 'eff it, I'm getting up and getting some good pics' lol. Do any other bloggers out there feel totally awkward sometimes taking pics in public places?

Wow- major digression there. Long story short if you're in Edmonton and you haven't been to Dauphine- get over there asap. If you're not, take a scroll down and you'll get just a little taste (no pun intended!) of the charming place that is Dauphine. And of course after our coffees and brunch we took a few tarts home to go that I can tell you did NOT last long once we made it home haha

PS I've had a lot of comments about my hair lately (thanks guys!) so I shared a little tutorial about how I get my perfectly imperfect waves if you're interested!
