4 Tips for Hosting the Best Bachelorette Party

So the time has come, your best friend is getting married and she's asked you to be her MOH or one of her bridesmaids. Now what? It's time to start looking at dresses, shoes, hairstyles, helping the bride and, planning a kickass bachelorette party.

As my girl Tiffiney's MOH, I planned two bachelorette parties which by no means make me an expert, but I do feel like I learned a thing or two along the way so I thought I'd share some of my tips with you today.

Tip #1: Make it personal

This one should be a no brainer but it's a big one. This party isn't for you, it's for the bride so make sure it's all about activities, people, food and things that she's going to love. If you love purple but the bride doesn't, don't make everything purple. If you think it would be really fun to go to a country bar but she can't stand country music, it's probably not a good idea. You catch my drift? In this instance, as I mentioned before, Tiffiney is the biggest Beyonce fan I know so just like her shower, I wanted to add a few Beyonce inspired touches to her bachelorette and bachelorette weekend. I'll elaborate on how I went about adding those personal touches below...

Tip #2: Add in an optional activity

When planning a bachelorette party, it can be fun to have an optional activity for people to participate in before the real party gets started. An activity can be a great icebreaker for people who don't know each other to get introduced and be silly together which ultimately, makes the night better. For Tiffiney's stagette night in Edmonton, I booked a Beyonce Hip Hop class at Pique dance centre and it was a total blast. Us girls had so much fun dancing and laughing at how uncoordinated we all were. It was a great way for us all to loosen up and have fun before the night even began, not to mention a fun and unique way to add Beyonce into the occasion. Not into hip hop? Try another activity you think the bride might like. Other options include a pole dancing class, an afternoon at the spa getting mani/pedis, hitting up the driving range just to name a few. Try to think of something unique and fun to really surprise the bride and go the extra mile.

In addition to our bachelorette night, the bridal party went on a stagette weekend in Kelowna (I spoke about that trip and my Kelowna recommendations here). For a bit of a fun physical activity for that trip we booked a pole dancing class. Ladies, let me tell you if you want to laugh your ass off and get in an amazing workout at the same time, you should definitely give a class a try. We went to Okanagan Pole Dance and our instructor was amazing. She allowed us to not take ourselves too seriously but we also learned a ton and ended the night with an epic dance off.

Tip #3: Don't forget the details

Part of making the event personal for the bride is in paying attention to the details. Going the extra mile makes for a little extra work but it will also impress your guests and the bride will really appreciate it. I saw these cups on pinterest but to keep costs down I thought, I can DIY those!! I bought plain black paper cups from Party City and used my gold pen to write Beyonce lyrics on the cups. I chose a few party appropriate lyrics such as "drunk in love", "don't you drop that alcohol" and others that fit with the theme. It was inexpensive, didn't take long and a small detail that everyone noticed and loved!

Another bit of Beyonce for the evening was with this #FEYONCE sign from Best Day Ever Banners. It made for the perfect photo station and everyone loved the nod to Queen Bey.

In addition, we also played Junk In The Trunk (which is hilarious and I totally recommend if you've never played before) and danced off to Beyonce to crown the winner. The winner of the game won a can of lemonade, obviously haha. We also had other small touches such as an "I don't think you're ready for this jelly" sign in front of the jello shots and other little touches. All of these small details add up and make for a really special event.

Tip #4: Have Fun!

My last tip for hosting the perfect bachelorette is don't forget to have fun!! You've spent a ton of time organising and planning and now you get to have a good time. By being prepared ahead of time you can relax and enjoy the night. I know I certainly did!
