Month In Review: August 2014

Wow, what a month!! To say August was a busy one is definitely an understatement!

We started off the month by taking part in a really fun way to give back by having our pictures taken for the Women Portraits project.  You might remember they were one of Diana's Park Picks a while back. We've got another post with a bit more on that coming soon but here's a peek at one of our photos, we couldn't be happier!

We then had the exciting news that we were going to be featured in Occasions Mag Online.  We hosted a fun garden party with a few friends and had great food (yum and yum), fun drinks and of course, beautiful decor.  It was such a beautiful day and we had a blast putting it all together and spending the day with friends- and of course, our favourite little guest Oliver, who channelled his inner Zoolander for a few of the photos! Seriously, how freaking cute is he?!

The next day we went to an event at Plum Home + Design hosted by Jenna of Plum Home + Design and Holly of In the Fun Lane.  We had an absolute blast meeting so many fabulous creative women who live right here in Edmonton! There is such an amazing creative and collaborative community in our city and we are sooo thrilled that Holly and Jenna put this together.  We've definitely made some friends after meeting these ladies and cannot wait to get together as a group again. As an added bonus, we were gifted the most generous goodie bags filled with little treats from Canadian businesses. Check out some of these local businesses and give them some love #shoplocal

It's no secret that us ladies love Poppy Barley, so when we were invited to check out some of their new styles and leathers we couldn't wait to see them! Big news with PB? Men's shoes(!!)...date tbd but they're pretty snazzy ladies, so keep these in mind for your men! We're also in love with their foxhunt boot and chelsea boots which thanks to our Alberta weather, we'll probably need to be busting out sooner than later!

We also had the opportunity to try out the Kerastase discipline treatment at the Cutting Room Salon. Us ladies were pampered with stylists who gave our hair the full discipline treatment to cut frizz and tame unruly hair.  Two weeks later I know all three of us have noticed a difference in shine, manageability, smoothness and drying time.

Lastly, we had a full "blog day" last saturday where we grabbed breakfast at Duchess and made some new friends (Holla Nola and Meagan!), did a bit of shopping at Plum, took some outfit photos (coming soon) then went to support a few of our friends and fellow local bloggers Kira of Northern Style Exposure and Eleni of Convey the Moment as they hosted a shopping party at the Southgate Le Chateau.  Delish pastries, fun friends and an excuse to go shopping- it was pretty much a perfect Saturday!

Phew - so there it is, August in review! Here's to September!
