Abbotsford Tulip Festival
Today's post is basically a dream come true for me because I don't think I've ever been as giddy and happy to be somewhere as I was at the Abbotsford Tulip Festival. I first saw this festival last year on IG and made it my mission to make it this year. With a cold spring and a slow start to the festival, they extended the festival to May 14th this year which meant that James and I could make it the afternoon we arrived to Abbotsford.
It was wet and muddy and definitely messy but by far the most incredible experience I've had for a long time. I adore tulips and have never seen tulips grow as large and as beautifully as I saw in these fields. This was just the second year of the Bloom Tulip Festival and I'm so happy that we have a tulip festival in Canada that's so nearby to those of us in Alberta.
As soon as we landed at the airport and grabbed our car we headed right to the festival to spend the afternoon. I cannot recommend this festival enough so I would highly suggest planning to visit next year and when you do, bring some rubber boots, a fully charged phone/camera and prepare to have some fun! I know we did :)
I wanted to roam the fields in a summery dress and this floral maxi from Dynamite fit the bill perfectly. The ruffles, the flow-y skirt and the pretty pattern made it the perfect whimsical dress to wear to the festival. Paired with an always stylish denim jacket from dynamite and a pair of ankle boots and a hat to keep the look casual, I was tulip festival ready!
I also had to bring along my MEZZI crossbody bag that has a built in phone charger so I could keep my phone charged to take all of my tulip photos! ;) (The bag also has a flashlight built in too which is amazing when you're rooting around trying to find your keys, etc!)
