My Weekend of Luxury with Lincoln

Today's post is a fun one because it's totally different from the norm around here....two weekends ago James and I enjoyed a jam packed weekend of luxury rolling around in a beautiful Lincoln and being absolutely spoiled. I can tell you that if there was ever a weekend to cruise around in a ballin' Lincoln MKZ, it would be the non stop weekend we had. Over one weekend we had two dinners and nights out planned with friends, two birthdays to attend, I had two photoshoots to work and we enjoyed an incredible massage and high tea at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald. Phew - can you say non-stop?!

After a night out with a good friend on Friday, we started our Saturday bright and early with a photoshoot. When James and I shoot fashion posts we usually try to get a few done at once so there's always a bit of back seat changing and the Lincoln MKZ had lots of room for all of my outfit changes! After snapping pics for a few hours we enjoyed a bit of a break by going for a much needed and incredibly relaxing massage at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. I feel like work and life gets so busy that I often forget to take time for myself to slow down and relax so the one hour massage was such a welcome break amongst my non-stop fast paced life. After our massages, James and I enjoyed high tea at the Fairmont. Despite being on my list of things "to do" for so long, this was the first time I'd ever been to the high tea service at the Fairmont and James and I had a great time!

After our break from reality we motored back home, got ready for night #2 and headed out to celebrate a friends birthday. The next day was back to work time as I went off for photoshoot #2 then immediately off to a birthday party. Being so on the go and driving around can be pretty stressful at times but I realized that's probably partially because my little bean car isn't quite the comfortable ride that I experienced in the Lincoln MKZ. I don't know about you guys but despite the fact that I've lived in Edmonton my entire life I'm still one of the most directionally challenged people you will probably ever meet so I found the built in navigation system to be a life saver; especially because I could just speak to the system and have it find my destination without needing to even touch the screen!

Another major luxury was the heated steering wheel. In the weekend I had the MKZ I used the heated steering wheel and seats as well as the air conditioned seats (oh spring in Alberta! haha) so between the nav, those little luxuries and the super comfortable ride, it was a little tough saying goodbye when I had to hand the keys back! On our last night with the car James and I took a little drive out to watch the sunset and took a minute to slow down and be grateful for all we have. Sometimes we rush through life so quickly we forget to slow down and realize how lucky we are. In amongst the busy-ness of our non-stop weekend it was great to take a few moments to slow down and enjoy life's little pleasures. So as we head into the long weekend where many of us will likely be busy visiting friends and family and enjoying the weekend remember to take time to slow down and be thankful! Have a great long weekend everyone! XO

I want to say a special thank you to Lincoln Canada and Pumpkin PR for spoiling James and I with such a fabulous weekend! Thank you guys for supporting the brands that support this blog! XO
