My Eclectic Office Update

It's been a while since I last showed off my office and a few things have changed since then.  As much as I was digging the bright and airy vibe I had going on, I wanted to up the oomph a bit with some more pattern, texture and richer colors. To go for a slightly bolder eclectic look I wanted to bring in a few statement making pieces to add more wow factor. And seeing as I can't keep a room looking the same for more than 5 minutes (seriously tho haha) I already have a few more changes in store but for now, here's an update!

Above: To bring in more color and a bit more fun, I've added some brighter and bolder accents. The hot pink cushions pick up the pinks in my statement making area rug from Wayfair while the indigo cushions tone them down and add some great pattern. If you've been following for a while, you already know that I can't ever have enough greenery in any room so this indestructible spider plant was a must have in this space!

Below: Mixing up shelf styling and accessories is an easy way to make a change to your space without having to hugely commit to a larger change like new furniture or a paint color. I love to create little groupings that make me smile! Stack a few books, lean a print, pop in a plant (obviously) and add an unexpected piece for the perfect shelfie combo!

Bringing in more blues was important to me to tie in the rich navy blue in my new area rug. This tasseled and embroidered cushion was one of my first purchases when we moved in and has been "room hopping" ever since we moved into this house but has recently found a new home in my office. Navy blue curtains add a. bit more drama and help to really tie in the blue in the carpet; plus, they look so rich paired with gold and brass accents and hardware found throughout this room.

Never one to opt for the "expected" I like to try to mix styles and finishes in a unique way to keep things interesting. In my office, I've paired brass and gold modern accents with bold and bright textiles and also added a few touches that are more natural such as this beautiful woven basket with a tassel and the wall hanging I made with Gather with The Skinny. Future plans for this room include bringing in a few more of these more natural elements to balance the bold, bright and modern so stay tuned for that!

What do you guys think of the changes I've made to this space so far? I love mixing up this room to keep my creativity going and to create an inspiring and beautiful place for myself and Herman ;) to work! I mean come on, who wouldn't want to come and work in here everyday with this guy?! I've linked a few of the pieces above but let me know in the comments below if you need any other sources!
