Shop Goods that Do Good: Collective Goods

Feeling refreshed after a great long weekend, I wanted to start the week on a high note, sharing a new small biz I think you should know about… Collective Goods. Collective Goods is a non-profit marketplace based in Calgary. They aim to empower women by selling artisan products that are designed locally in Calgary and made by Ethiopian women as a way to provide a better life for their families - what’s not to love about that?!

In addition to carrying beautiful jewelry and scarves, I adore Collective Goods as they’re a volunteer run collective that truly is working to make a difference. They provide charities exposure through a retail platform with the goal of helping underprivileged women generate sustainable and gainful income through sales of their goods. It’s truly amazing.

Their motto: We seek to provide goods that do good for the greater good. We believe that the most beautiful goods are ones that do good.

I don’t know about you but I can definitely get behind that. I was generously gifted the Wudasi Scarf and a pair of North Earrings and I adore them both. I can’t count how many compliments I’ve received on the earrings and the scarf is so beautiful and both pieces have so much more meaning, knowing the story behind them.

In our consumer driven world we have lots of choices available to us so when we have the opportunity to support a business that’s aiming to do some good in the world, well, I feel like we should absolutely support that! I’ve shared a few of my other favourite Collective Goods pieces below and if you’re in the market for some jewelry or scarves either for yourself or as a gift, I’d highly suggest checking out Collective Goods. They’re pieces are great quality and beautiful and totally affordable too! So let’s all try to shop better, okay?

Also, if you know of any other similar businesses working to make the world a better place, let me know in the comments below! xo
