GTL: Dream Kitchen Bliss
Remember last week's Park Pick when I showed you the picture of a Kelly Deck kitchen that I fell beyond in love with? Well, I am so in love that I've decided to use it as my inspiration for this week's Get The Look post. Thanks again to Designs By Katy for bringing this beauty to my attention!
If there's one part of the home that I want to be open, airy, clean and fresh feeling - it's the kitchen. This kitchen makes my heart flutter with it's gold feature lighting, sexy backsplash (yes, I just called a tile sexy) and open and airy feel. I'd like to move right on in and just make a little home right in this kitchen - that's how much I love it. So, let's get to it and GTL (that's Get The Look for those of you new around here)!
First things first let's talk about the kitchen basics. Clean and classic upper cabinet doors in white and island panels in a soft grey set the scene for this soothing space. Simple hardware doesn't distract and lets the wow factors (lighting, tile) do the work. The paint color is a soothing grey and pairs beautifully with the backsplash tile and barstools. Can we just take a minute and go "aaahhhhhh", how serene.
Next up are the wow factors, the game changers....the boom shakka lakka of the room. I love the unexpected pop of brassy gold inside the shade of this light fixture that adds a bit of warmth and contrast to the otherwise cool toned and stainless accents in the space. The other game changer is that backsplash. Oh that backsplash. The herringbone adds texture, interest and a bit of glam but stays classic as it doesn't stray from the palette of the room.
Lastly, we add the finishing touches to this room with artwork, bar stools and little accessories that add personality. The gold polka dot dishes and artwork keep the room from feeling too serious and tie in with the finishes on the light fixtures. Flowers, textiles and artwork add color while the bar stools seamlessly pair with the paint color and don't distract from the rest of the space.
