Peanut Butter Pizza?!

Peanut butter and pizza might not seem like two foods that would go together but when Adams Peanut Butter challenged us to a savoury peanut butter recipe, I pulled inspiration from one of my favourite types of food - Thai!

If you eat Thai food you're already familiar with the flavours of peanuts mixed with a bit of sweet, a bit of heat all topped off with fresh herbs. Since Adams 100% Natural Peanut Butter has no added sugar, it's the perfect base to the delicious sauce for this flavourful pizza. So read on to get the recipe yourself!

For this recipe you can buy a pre-made pizza crust if you're short on time but at home we use this recipe and use half white flour and half whole wheat and it's a really quick and simple recipe for a yummy pizza crust.

To make this pizza preheat the oven to 450 F (if making this crust, otherwise follow instructions on pizza crust for temperature)

If you buy packaged dough and it requires baking prior to adding the toppings, follow those directions otherwise if you use the dough recipe like I did, make the dough first then set aside

Mix together all of the ingredients required for the sauce and chop all of the veggies required for the toppings

Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and cook in a pan with a bit of EVOO and some salt and pepper and drizzle chicken with 2 tbsp of the peanut butter sauce

While the chicken is cooking, roll out the pizza dough into your round or square shape and put the rest of the peanut sauce onto the crust

Once the chicken is cooked, place on the pizza crust, cover with 3/4 of the cheese. Layer the veggies and add the rest of the cheese and the basil. Save the cilantro as a garnish to add once the pizza is cooked

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are slightly browned, top with the cilantro and voila- you're a pizza master chef and you can now enjoy your Thai inspired "peanut butter pizza"!
