204 Park House Build: A Peek Inside

Can you believe we're almost near the end of July?! Summer is just flying by and since moving into our new home a few weeks ago time seems to be going by even more quickly. Now that we're slowly getting settled and started to make our place our own I wanted to share another look at our home. Well, sort of...

I thought before giving you a peek into our house I'd share some photos of the home that we fell in love with and that led to the purchase of our house. In seeing some of the photos of the space from the builder, it will be great to see how we made our own changes and put our own style on the space as I reveal our rooms. So for now take a peek at the home in Creekwood that we fell in love with!

The Living Room

Our main level is open concept which I love. As soon as you walk in the front door (which would be off to the left in this photo) you see the living room, kitchen and dining room. We have large windows in the living room that let in lots of natural light. A modern fireplace sits opposite of where our furniture will go. I just love how bright and open this space is and have been having so much fun arranging our furniture and making this space our own over the past few weeks.

The Kitchen and Dining Room

We opted for a more minimalist kitchen than is shown in the show home and I'm so happy with how it turned out. White cabinets are contrasted with a walnut island and the juxtaposition works really well in the open space. The lower cabinets have minimalist hardware while the uppers l have push mechanisms so there won't be any visual clutter from knobs or pulls. I shared my lighting choices here and funnily enough, we purchased the same dining table for our dining space as they had in the show home. Similar to the front of the house, the back of the house has two large windows so continue the feeling of a bright and airy space.

Master Bedroom

A little while back I shared our plans for our master bedroom and now you can see the space we're working with. The room has been coming together really nicely so I'll be sharing that reveal soon. James and I are loving having much more space and storage than we had in our condo plus, the ensuite bathroom is also so great to have.

Bathrooms

The bathrooms are the rooms I was both the most excited and nervous about. We made quite a few changes and upgrades, some of which I talked about in this post. Now that we're in the space I'm so happy we made the changes and upgrades that we did. Plus, it's so nice coming from a small condo with only one washroom to a home that now has three. Hellooo luxury! haha

The Spare Bedrooms

In the show home one room was set up as a child's room and the other, an office. As James' family and friends mostly live in the UK it was really important that we bought a home where we could set up a fully functional guest bedroom for visitors. I will also be using the second upstairs guest room as an office and I've been given full reign to go as feminine as I want in that space so I can't wait to set up a design plan!

The Basement

I love that our basement is half developed. We have a large open space that will act for now as James' 'man zone'. There's a ton of storage and the other half of the basement is left undeveloped but has space for another washroom, the furnace room and a spare bedroom or possibly office.

So there you have it- a little peek at the show home that we fell in love with in Creekwood. If you're in Edmonton or the area, check out this month's issue of Creek Life Magazine to see my article where I share some things to consider when buying a new home as well as some of the reasons James and I bought where we did. You can pick up the summer issue at Southgate Mall, Save On Foods and other shops around the city. Or, pop by any of the show homes in Creekwood for your copy. On Saturday there will even be a community bbq with food and games too!
