Park Picks 08.10.18

Guess what's baaaaack?!!

If there are any original/long term readers here today then chances are you might remember 'Park Picks' - a weekly blog roundup that used to be a 204 Park weekly staple. For those who might not know, 204 Park actually started as a trio and every week for the first year of the blog the three of us ladies would share our 'Picks' for the week. Whether it was an article we read and loved, a song we were really digging, a recipe we tried or any other item or purchase, etc that we loved over the week, every friday we'd each share our 'picks' for the week. Once 204 Park changed from a trio to my solo venture about a year in I took a step back from the Park Picks but over the past few years I've toyed with the idea of bringing this series back and well, I'm ready to get back at it!

Park Picks will be a quick weekly post where you'll see a few picks of what I'm loving lately. Sometimes it might include a new beauty product or piece of clothing and other times it might be a new show I'm loving on Netflix! Basically, it's just a quick weekly check in sharing the things I love in a pretty quick and casual way.

I'm excited to bring this series back and today I'm starting with an overdue thank you. Let's get started, shall we.....?!

For today's 'Park Picks' I wanted to share a few of the brands that I adore who also helped me give back to a cause that's dear to me. You probably saw a few weeks back that I attended Ladies on the Green, a golf tournament and gala that supports the Zebra Child Protection Centre. The Zebra Centre is an amazing facility that helps children and their families get through the worst situations and after learning more about the important work they do last year at Ladies on the Green I knew that this year I wanted to help give back in any capacity I could.

I reached out to a few of my favourite brands who came through in a big way to donate items to the silent auction that helped raise over $100,000 this year for the incredible cause. I reached out to some of the brands I already adore and today I thought I'd share why....

BeautyCounter

I was first introduced to BeautyCounter a few years ago and I've been a loyal fan ever since. To this day I still use their lipstick and toner  almost daily. Beautycounter cosmetics are made with safer ingredients (which I adore) plus their products are amazing. Their lipstick is my absolute favourite and I was so appreciative of their generous donation of almost $400 worth of cosmetics for the silent auction. Thanks BeautyCounter!

Bella Casa Day Spa

By now you should all know that Jen is my go to for makeup, eyebrows and nails. She's a microblading wizard (like seriously, she's THE BEST) and she generously donated a microblading service to the auction. If you're in Edmonton or the area and you're looking for microblading I can't recommend Jen highly enough! Plus, you can read about my microblading experiences here: Part One // Part Two

Chatters

Chatters Salon is a Canadian salon and company I love. You might remember last year that I had my hair done at their travelling styling bus plus they carry great hair care products I love so I'm so happy to be partnering this year as well for my hair care needs. You guys all know by now that I'm all about taking care of my hair so I'm pretty particular about who I let near my locks. For hair salon services or just for picking up hair care needs, I adore Chatters and I so so appreciate their incredibly generous donation to Ladies on the Green to help raise money for the Zebra Centre. Stay tuned for more fun with Chatters over the coming months!! This is just the beginning....

Sahajan

Ooh you guys, when it comes to safe, natural and incredibly effective and luxurious skincare I can't say enough about Sahajan. When it comes to green beauty and more specifically skincare, Sahajan is by far my favourite brand. Their skincare line that I tried a few years ago singlehandedly changed the way I thought about skincare and to this day their hair and body oil are products I use on repeat. Sahajan generously donated a $200 gift card and the lucky lady who took that home is in for such a treat when she receives her new skincare. Over the past few weeks I've been using their new oil cleanser (spoiler alert, I'm obsessed!) so stay tuned for a full review and if you're looking to support an amazing Canadian brand that you can feel good about - I can't recommend Sahajan enough!

Skylark Owl + Linen

Next up is Skylark Owl + Linen, the Canadian (Edmonton based! woohoo!) bedding brand whose luxe bedding I sleep on every night. Skylark Owl + Linen products are sustainable and environmentally friendly. They're stylish, comfortable and my go to bedding brand that I recommend to friends, family and design clients alike! They very generously donated a sheet set and somebody very lucky took home an incredible sheet set after the silent auction! Check out a bit more about why I love Skylark Owl + Linen here and take a look at their products here. My current faves are the Percale Duvet Cover (that I have) and the luxe charcoal cable knit throw.

In addition to saying thank you to these brands I also wanted to say thank you to everyone for your incredible response to yesterday's post with the reveal of Kresswell Interiors' #TheOliverEscape project! This renovation project was such a fun change from the usual client requests and it was so fabulous to receive so much incredible feedback on the project as well. In case you missed it, you can check out the full reveal HERE!
