Spa Night at Home with goop!

goop shampoo and face mask

2018 has been the year of self care for me. Heading into this year I wanted to make changes both small and big that would help me de-stress, slow down and take better care of myself. I believe that making major life changes actually happens in the smaller adjustments and routines that you change in your day to day life. So, in my never ending quest to live a more balanced and happier life I've been making lots of small changes that have been adding up to a more major shift in how I feel. Today, I wanted to share two products that I've been introducing into my 'spa night' at-home routines that I've been loving. While I'm not going to try to tell you that a beauty product is going to 'change your life' or 'make you happier' I am a big believer in treating yourself and taking care of yourself as a part of living your best life. And sometimes, when you find a great product that you love and that works, well, that's all a part of your self-care routine that leads to that happier, more balanced life. You feel me?

Two products that I've been introducing into my spa night at-home routine (basically - mask time, bath time, me time with a good book - it's glorious!) are goop's exfoliating instant facial and G.Tox himalayan salt scalp scrub shampoo.  Over the past few years I've really been trying to up my skincare regime.

The closer I get to thirty the more and more I am placing value on using high quality skin care products so I was excited to try out the instant facial....

I was really excited to try this product because while I was on my weight loss program I was actually a bit restricted on some of the beauty and skincare products I could use so I felt that I was ready to get back into a proper skincare regime again. The summer can be a tough time of year for my oily/combination skin with clogged pores and uneven texture so this mask sounded like the answer to my prayers! haha Especially in the summer I tend to get lots of little bumps from clogged pores so I am ALL about a good exfoliating mask to clear out those pores and help with my skin's texture. I've been using this mask for a few weeks now (using twice a week) and I'm loving it! I notice that my skin definitely 'glows' after using this mask and what I love about it most is that it isn't filled with lots of harsh chemicals. The mask is made with 86% organic content which I love as I've been trying to be more aware of not only using good skincare but also finding skincare that's made with natural and organic ingredients. The mask is dual-acting with natural alpha and beta hydroxy acids and plant-based cellulose beads to exfoliate while vitamin B5 soothes and softens your skin.  My only wish would be that the mask maybe had more of a scent (it's scentless) however I get that for many people this would actually be a bonus so that's my only wish! If you have normal, oily or combination skin I think this would be a great mask to use to see noticeable results (which you don't always get with skincare products). The mask does have a sensitivity alert so if your skin is more on the sensitive side you'll want to test a small patch of skin first before you use this all over your face! If you're looking for a treat yo self mask to add to your regime and exfoliating is a concern of yours I'd recommend giving this mask a try!

Next up in my at home spa night routine is all about my hair. You guys know by now that I'm all about trying the latest and greatest when it comes to my hair care. What I use for my hair is actually one of the most common questions that I get. I am definitely luck to have long, healthy hair but I'm a true believer that it is so long and healthy because I take very good care of it. Also, one of my secrets is that I only wash my hair every 4-6 days so when I do wash my hair it's a bit of an event! haha

I couldn't wait to get my hands on goop's G. Tox Himalayan Salt Scrub Shampoo.....

One of the major shifts I've made over the past few years when it comes to taking care of my hair is the importance in the QUALITY of the products you use. Especially since I'm not washing my hair everyday or every other day I want to make sure that when I use a product on my hair and scalp that it's high quality and it's effective. I was really excited to try this shampoo because it's TOTALLY different from any other shampoo I've ever used. It's a totally unique shampoo that smells AH-MAZING (like seriously, I wish you guys could smell this stuff!) and has lots of great ingredients to clean and soothe your hair and scalp. The shampoo is made with himalayan pink salt which is part of why it smells amazing but it also means that your scalp gets exfoliated too. I'd never considered the need to exfoliate your scalp until I tried this shampoo and now I can't believe I'd never thought to do so before! The scrub helps cleanse your hair and remove product buildup and dirt and oil from your scalp which is so important.  It also contains moringa and rose hip oils to purify and detox and the scent of rosemary, geranium, orange and peppermint is an unreal combination.

So with glowing skin and hair shiny and healthy all you need to complete your spa night in is a bubble bath and a good book and you're set!
