Modern Man Cave Reveal

Man cave

Today I want to show off James and Hermans' man cave ;) When we first started looking at homes James requested a space of his own - AKA a man cave if you will. So when we started looking we knew we wanted to find a home that had space for an office for myself as well as space where James could have a room of his own for his large screen TV, his playstation and his own home office.

Thankfully, part of what drew us to this home was its large basement with more than enough space for James' "man zone". While I was totally fine to relinquish most design control of this room to James I wanted to make sure I could have input in the room too (I obviously can't give up TOTAL design control! lol) so without further ado - let's take a look at my woman approved man cave!

Since James' job requires working outside of the traditional 9-5 hours, he needed a home office. I fell in love with this modern desk from the Brick and thankfully James loved it too! Paired with this modern chair and table lamp - James' minimalist workspace is complete!

When picking finishes for our basement we knew we wanted blue as an accent color. After working with pieces in the custom Designed2b collection and seeing how great they were, we decided to order this chair in a luxe blue fabric. It's so cozy and comfortable and a perfect accent piece for the room. This sleek black side table is the perfect accent to go beside it and complete our cozy reading corner.

Probably the most important elements of the room for James were the TV and sound system. James spent lots of time sourcing out the pieces he wanted and ultimately settled on the Samsung 70" Smart TV. As a bonus, for Boxing Day from Dec 26-29 the TV will be $1999 - a savings of $1000!

I was never too concerned with a sound system before but I will say that I'm loving this sound bar. From a design perspective I appreciate that it's sleek and unobtrusive and it is great to have our basement movie zone with our big screen TV and sound system now!

Obviously a large tv and sound system is no good if you don't have a comfortable spot to watch it! When James and I went to find a sectional we were both immediately drawn to the Zeke sectional. We loved how large and comfortable it was (more than enough room for the both of us to lounge comfortably) plus, the adjustable headrests are super convenient. The dark gray is masculine which James loves while I'm a big fan of the modern clean lines of the piece. From Dec 26-29 it's on sale for $1299 so I'd highly recommend checking it out in one of it's many fabric choices.

The noguchi style coffee table is the perfect table to nestle right into the sectional and then lastly, we added this bookshelf in the corner for display of books and other minimal decor pieces

Don't forget to check out the TV and sectional as well as the other great deals for Boxing Day at the Brick!
