Our Mid-Century Modern Living Room Update
Can you believe we've been in this house for over a year and I haven't shared our full living room reveal?! In only a year and a half our living room has already seen a few changes but I am LOVING this look right now. When I first connected with Tracey and she came over to snap some photos of my house my jaw hit the floor when she sent the finished shots back to me. I'm convinced it was her fabulous photography that landed us in Apartment Therapy and these photos were the beginning of us working together - the stars aligned!
Now, onto the space. When we bought our house there were a few of these pieces already in place. We got a crazy deal on our sofa and the Barcelona daybed has been on my furniture bucket list for over ten years. While I'm not totally in love with this area rug for our space, (love the rug, it's just not my first choice with our sofa) for a rug this size we got ours at a great deal and with it in place we don't have to rush in our hunt for the perfect rug - when we find it, we'll know it. The arc lamp and our bookshelf have also been staples since day one.
What has continued to change over the past year and a bit has been the artwork above the sofa (remember this big beautiful photo that eventually made it's way to James' man cave?), our coffee table (we said goodbye to the walnut IKEA table in favour of another mid century modern classic) and our chairs. We used to have two Wassily chairs but they were a bit too cold for the space so the two mustard leather chairs we found at Maven and Grace were meant to be! Truthfully I'm also much happier with our current side table situation and bookshelf styling vs what's in this photo but knowing me, those will just continue to change as time goes on!
Take a scroll through and let me know what you think! I've linked to most of the pieces below but if you want sources on anything else that I've missed let me know and I'd be happy to share the source!
