Date Nights In
Something that James and I make sure to do in our relationship is make one on one time for ourselves. No phones, no emails, no distractions - just time together. Truth be told, during the week James and I rarely eat together. Our schedules are both all over the place and with wonky work hours and life commitments filling up our schedules quickly, it’s usually not until the weekend that we set aside time to sit down, eat together and enjoy some quality time with one another.
I don’t know about you but by the end of the week the last thing I want to do is cook (well, let’s be honest - I never really want to cook but you know what I’m saying…) so quite often we’ll order in. One of our favourite places to order in from is Panago. I’ve been eating Panago pizza for years but it wasn’t until recently that I learned that Panago makes their dough fresh in store daily and they use 100% Canadian wheat and cheese. In addition, their Italian tomato sauce is now 100% organic made with vine-ripened tomatoes, herbs and spices plus their three juices are all organic too!
After learning a bit more about Panago’s commitment to the highest quality products with no artificial colours and flavours and using ham, Italian sausage, pepperoni and salami made from pork raised without the use of antibiotics, I started to get a craving for Panago, so James and I ordered in!
I’ve long been wanting to have photos of James and I taken but alas, he prefers being on the other side of the lens. So, it took a little bit of convincing but he finally agreed to having photos taken. We both wanted photos that weren’t staged or something that wasn’t us. So, we invited Breanne over to take a few relaxed photos of us doing exactly what we do, relaxing, enjoying a glass of wine, and naturally, eating.
Our Friday nights usually look a lot like this. The two of us pouring a glass of wine, ordering our food in, Herman on the outskirts trying as hard as he can to sneak some food and then we play a board game or watch Netflix. I cherish the nights in that we spend together uninterrupted by the rest of the world.
Plus let’s be honest - pizza makes any night better!! So, what did we order? To drink we ordered a bottle of San Pellegrino and two organic orange juices. For our pizzas we ordered a ham and pineapple (one of my faves!) and a classic pepperoni (James’ choice) and to add a few extra veggies I built my own salad adding tomatoes, red and green peppers, black olives, feta and spinach to the mix for a yummy side dish. To finish off, we ordered one of my favourite indulgences - the chocolate chunk pretzel cookie. I could eat one of these cookies all to myself - they are SO good (highly recommend trying one for yourself!). After we finished eating we cozied up with Herman and watched Netflix for the rest of the night. To me, it was perfection.
What do you do to unwind or spend some QT with the ones you love? Have any Netflix recommendations for me? Or, what’s your favourite pizza from Panago - we always like to try new kinds! Let me know in the comments below!

Huge thank you to Breanne Marie Photo for snapping these rare photos of James and I together!
