Top Ten Netflix: August

As much as I'm all about getting outdoors and spending time in the sunshine over the summer months, I'm also a big fan of some Netflix and chill (and no, I don't mean the dirty kind, I mean the legit sit in front of the TV and zone out kind thank you very much! lol). So, I thought I'd share some of the shows, movies and series I'm loving right now in case you need a little viewing inspo for this month. Let me know in the comments what you're loving on Netflix right now, I'm always looking for new shows or movies to add to my list!

1.  For All The Feels: I Am Not Your Guru

Do not watch this film without kleenex, I repeat: watch this film with kleenex nearby! Oh boy, I cannot say enough good things about this film. Whether you 'believe' or 'buy into' the type of work Tony Robbins does or not, I do believe that truly everyone could take something from this film. Do yourself a favour and watch it as soon as you can, you will not regret it.

2. To LOL: Baby Cobra

After the emotional roller coaster ride that is the Tony Robbins documentary, laugh your ass off by watching the hilariously pregnant, foul mouthed tiny woman Allie Wong. I'm a bit late to the party in sharing this special but if you haven't seen it yet, stop whatever you're doing now and go watch it.

3. Your Newest Addiction: Stranger Things

I will admit that when James asked if I wanted to start watching this show, I wasn't really into it. Fast forward oh, two hours later and I'm officially hooked. The style and story take me back to being a child and the show hooks you right in and becomes surprisingly addictive very quickly.

4. Throwback: The Princess Bride

Oh yes!!! Growing up I can't tell you how many times I watched this film over and over and over again. I was feeling the major nostalgic feels when I saw this movie pop up on Netflix again. For those who have seen it, you know how great it is and if you haven't then a) where the heck were you in the 90s and b) go watch it. NOW!

5. You'll Need to Read: The Intouchables

The Intouchables, not to be confused with the untouchables is an incredibly beautiful film about an unlikely bond between two men who are brought together and develop a unique relationship. This film is subtitled so be prepared but it's such a beautiful and touching film that I've watched twice. I can't say enough good things about it!

7. The Chills: Hush

I have a love/hate relationship with horror movies and thrillers so it's usually James who picks these ones out. This movie gave me the major chills. I won't spoil the surprise twist to the film but all I'll say is maybe don't watch this movie alone. That being said, it's worth the watch and the suspense will keep you on your toes until the very end.

8. The Surprise: She's Funny That Way

I had no idea what to expect from this film before I started watching and I was very pleasantly surprised. This film is a little bit funny and a whole lot of quirky. I found myself laughing the whole way through. Watch this when you're in the mood for something light and silly and just sit back and enjoy!

9. Indie Goodness: Celeste and Jesse Forever

So this movie has been on Netflix for a while now (like, over a year) but it's one that I was surprised at how much I enjoyed. I just adore Rashida Jones and this film is very real and brings great insights into what happens when two people who love one another start to drift apart. You might need kleenex for this one too - just be warned.

10. Binge-worthy: Orange Is The New Black

K, so by now we've all heard of OITNB. This show is no new news however this season is WOAH. This is the first season that I felt got dark and addressed issues the previous season didn't. From mental health to racial issues and conflicts of power, shit gets real in this most recent season, making it my favourite so far.
